Red Roll, The Wintergarden Shopping Centre, Sydney

Just a quick one…

Caroline had been bugging to go to Red Roll and so yesterday we did.  Since our last visit to Sydney she’d been dreaming of another of these rolls.  I didn’t get one last time so I had no idea of what she was on about!  On the way back to Bondi we stopped at Red Roll’s outlet at The Wintergarden Shopping Centre.  We bought three of their “small” rolls and brought them back to the apartment to share.

Here they are.  Top left: BBQ pork.  Top right: chicken.  Bottom: meatball.

You can see they’re packed with salady things.  But on closer inspection there is meaty goodness in there too.  The BBQ was very nice.

The chicken was very nice too.

And not surprisingly the meatball one was very nice as well.  Although at first I thought they’d made a mistake and given us two chicken rolls.  I was expecting the meatball roll to be a little more meaty.  That is to look more like what I know meatballs to be – i.e. frikkadels, but despite this it still tasted good.

All in all Red Roll was as good as Caro had described!  I will return…

Oh wow, those rolls look amazing. All those yummy things crammed into bread!

Oh they were. And these were the small rolls. I’d be interested to see how big their large rolls are, but I think I’ll stick to the small ones!

Can’t wait to get back to Sydney. God I love that place! :-)
